More than a shop
When Ben took over the shop, he inherited something most people would have hauled off for scrap.
For more than 30 years, the previous owner had collected Volkswagen parts - thousands upon thousands of them. Engines. Transmissions. Sheet metal. Interior pieces. Trim. Electrical components. Hardware. Shelves stacked from floor to ceiling with decades of air-cooled Volkswagen history.
Most people saw a mess.
Ben saw a lifetime of irreplaceable parts worth saving.
Over the next several months, we spent countless hours cleaning, sorting, organizing, labeling, and preserving the collection so it could actually be used again. Today, what was once an overwhelming hoard has become one of BenBuilt Customs' greatest assets.
